Bulgogi-Ya
About This Spot
Nestled within the bustling Nexus Tower in Southport, Bulgogi-Ya welcomes you into a calm, inviting space that feels quietly removed from the city’s pace. The moment you step inside, the gentle warmth of glowing grills and intimate wooden tables sets the tone for a meal that encourages slow enjoyment and shared moments.
There’s a comforting ease here, where the hum of conversation mingles with the subtle sizzle of fresh cuts of meat cooking right at your table. It's a place where attention to quality quietly takes center stage—each bite of tender, marinated beef or wagyu seems to reflect the care in sourcing and preparation. The atmosphere is relaxed but attentive, with staff who know how to let you settle in while offering a warm, unobtrusive attentiveness that makes the experience feel genuinely personal.
Food at Bulgogi-Ya is less about overwhelming variety and more about savoring thoughtfully chosen dishes that complement the Korean barbecue tradition. Whether you’re sampling the rich, comforting warmth of rich stews or indulging in the playful crunch of kimchi and sides that bring a lively balance, each element contributes to a quietly joyful meal. The offer of little touches, like a side of creamy corn cheese or perfectly pickled onions, hints at a place invested in discovery and delight beyond the grill alone.
For those who return, Bulgogi-Ya becomes more than just a meal—it’s a familiar pause, a place for shared laughter, and a touch of warmth during quieter evenings or casual dates. The quality feels unhurried and unforced, inviting guests to return not out of obligation but because something about the experience simply fits.

Beef is good and fresh. Not too many varieties of menu but it’s what I want to eat. Wagyu beef and marinated wagyu beef are good. Side dishes are delicious even it’s not many selections. Free corn cheese per table!!! My kids love it. Price is very competitive. Will come back if I have chance.

Nice quiet restaurant, staff are always great and this has become our favourite date location. Great quality meat! And the pasta salad is the best we’ve found

Absolutely love Bulgogi-Ya, from the food to the staff everything is perfect, the staff are the most accommodating and kind on the Gold Coast and the food matches this by being the best quality I’ve had on the Gold Coast too. Always love coming back here and craving it!

Best Korean BBQ on the gold coast. Best value for money. Great meat cuts. Tasty marinades. Even the pickled onions are delicious. Very reasonable price which makes you not eat til you're sick. You know when it's an expensive all you can eat and you try and get your money's worth? You don't have to do that here. Just pure enjoyment and great food and great staff. I will miss this place when I move away. Proper gold coast hidden gem.

We had the lunch special set with cold buckwheat noodles and BBQ between the 3 of us. Huge servings and tasteful suite of sides. We were recommended the cold noodles and they were tasty, but a little too soft and not chewy enough for my liking. Service is excellent.
